Weatherization Energy Efficient Rehabilitation: WEER

Through a partnership with the City of San Diego Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) Program and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Diego, the Urban Corps of San Diego’s WEER program (Weatherization, Energy Efficiency, and Residential Rehab) will provide basic weatherization, minor rehabilitation, and minor home security improvements to low-income, senior and disabled residents to improve the safety and health of residents, and improve efficient use of energy, efficient use of water, and provide necessary repair due to differed maintenance. Urban Corps crews provide services that will prevent moisture damage to property i.e. caulking, weather stripping; repair, replacement, and/or installation of security doors and/or security screens; battery operated smoke alarm installation; water heater blanket replacement or installation; window replacement; exterior rodent and vermin protection; low-flow shower head installation; replacement and/or installation of electrical outlet covers and gaskets; removing mold and mildew; and repainting with matching color.
