recently gifted Urban Corps with a promise of matched donations up
to $1,000 for our Urban Forestry Program. The architectural firm
made the request in their annual holiday client mailing. Urban Corps
met the match and then some thanks to the help of a few loyal donors.
This overture of support for the organization touched us and we hope
that through this gesture, others are equally inspired to initiate
similar giving campaigns. Urban Corps’s
Urban Forestry Department planted more than 1,100 trees in 2009 and
brought in $305,000 to San Diego for Urban Forestry projects.
We
look forward to planting more than
2,000 trees in 2010 through CAL FIRE, Caltrans, California ReLeaf
and the City of San Diego Street’s
Division.
